A romantic dinner proposal in Cabo is a private table styled by us for the proposal and the meal that follows. Cabo Proposals designs the florals, linen, candles, lighting and signage, sets it up before you arrive, and times the moment to sunset. The arrangement is booked through us, which is what allows the setup to be included.
Booking a table online and hoping for the best is how dinner proposals go wrong. The table faces the wrong way. Sunset was forty minutes earlier than you thought. A server arrives with the mains at the exact moment you reach for the ring. A dinner proposal works when the dinner is built around the moment instead of the other way round.

Dinner on the sand
A private table set directly on the beach, lanterns down the approach and the water a few metres away. The most requested of all our dinner setups, and the one that photographs best in the last of the light.
Terrace table with ocean view Ocean view terrace A styled table on a terrace above the water with the coastline behind you. Better than the beach when the wind is up, and the easiest setting to keep completely private.
Garden table under string lights Garden and greenery A table under string lights in a garden setting inland from San Jose del Cabo. No ocean at all, which is exactly why some couples choose it, and it photographs beautifully after dark.
Private villa dinner
Dinner served on the terrace of a private villa, with the pool styled and the proposal staged in the same place. Nobody arrives, nobody leaves, and family can wait inside until it is done.
Add ons: a violinist, saxophonist or guitarist during the proposal, full mariachi for the celebration, a fireworks finale, a videographer, a drone, and transport from your hotel with the cover story built in.
What we arrange
Everything a reservation will not do for you
- The setting. Chosen for the view, the light direction and the privacy, not from a list of what had a table free.
- The timing. Sunset to the minute, with the courses paced around the moment so nothing arrives at the wrong time.
- The styling. Florals designed in your colours, linen, candles, lanterns, glassware and a sign if you want one.
- The service. Staff briefed on the plan and the cue, so the moment is protected rather than interrupted.
- Live music. Cued to the second, from a single violin through to full mariachi.
- A hidden photographer. In position before you sit down, shooting the moment and then the portraits after.
- Champagne and cake. Ready to appear the second she says yes, not twenty minutes later.
- The cover story. A reason you are there on that night that holds up under questioning.

The proposal and the dinner are two different moments
Most couples who ask for a dinner proposal want two things: a private moment where the question is asked, and a celebration afterward. Doing both at one table can work, but the strongest version separates them. We stage the proposal first, then walk you to a table already set for two people who are engaged.
That is why our dinner setups are built as a pair. The proposal happens at a spot chosen for privacy and light, and the table is waiting a short walk away with champagne already on ice. It costs very little more than doing it in one place and it is noticeably better in the photographs.
Pricing
What a dinner proposal costs
Dinner proposals are quoted as one fixed all inclusive price covering the setting, the setup and styling, the florals, the service, the meal and photography. The arrangement is made through us rather than booked by you, which is what allows the setup to be part of it. You approve the total before anything is paid.
The figure moves with the setting, the number of people and what you add: music, video, fireworks or a larger table for family joining afterward. Send your date and a sentence about what you are picturing and you will get a real number back.

What is a romantic dinner proposal setup?

Do I book the restaurant myself?

How far ahead should I book a dinner proposal?
Four to eight weeks is comfortable. High season runs November through April plus Valentine's week, when the best sunset slots go first. Midweek dates are noticeably easier to secure than weekends, and a rush booking inside seven days is sometimes possible depending on availability.
Can we have live music at a dinner proposal?
Yes. A solo violinist, guitarist or saxophonist during the proposal itself, or full mariachi for the celebration afterward. Music is one of the most requested additions and it changes the feeling of the moment more than almost anything else we can add.
Is dinner included in the price?
Dinner is quoted as part of the arrangement rather than paid separately by you on the night. We give you one fixed all inclusive figure covering the setup, the styling, the service and the meal, so nothing lands on you at the table.
Can family or friends join after the proposal?
Yes, and it is a common request. Guests wait out of sight until the moment is done and then join for dinner. Tell us the number early, because it changes which settings work and how the table is built.
