Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated 7 September 2026

Where the binding terms live

The deposit amount, the payment schedule and the cancellation windows that apply to your booking are stated in your written quote and confirmation. Those are the binding terms. This page explains how we approach the situations that come up most often.

Deposits

A deposit confirms your date and allows us to commit to suppliers on your behalf. Once we have paid a photographer, a boat operator, a florist or a venue to hold your slot, that money is committed whether or not the event goes ahead.

If you cancel

Tell us as early as you can. What is refundable depends on how far out you are and how much has already been committed to suppliers. Earlier cancellations recover more. We will show you what has been spent rather than simply quoting a percentage at you.

If you change the date

We will always try to move a booking rather than cancel it. Whether that is possible without additional cost depends on supplier availability on the new date and on how much notice we have. Date changes in high season are harder than in low season.

Weather and port closures

If weather or a port authority closure makes the primary plan impossible, we deliver the agreed backup arrangement instead. This is treated as the event going ahead, not as a cancellation, because the suppliers and the team are still deployed.

If we cannot deliver

In the rare case that we cannot deliver your event and cannot provide an acceptable alternative, you are refunded the amounts that have not already been irrecoverably committed to third party suppliers on your behalf.

The answer she gives

We plan the moment. We cannot guarantee the response, and the outcome of the proposal does not affect what is payable.
